Babe Ruth Signs Contract

In 1932, Babe Ruth signed a new contract with the New York Yankees at the Rolyat Hotel, which is now our main campus. The legendary "Sultan of Swat" trained each spring in St. Petersburg with the Yankees for 10 years and owned a waterfront home just a few miles from campus.

Intramural Fields

Stetson Law has an active intramural program with sports such as flag football, soccer, volleyball, softball, kickball, and more. Approximately 200 students participate each year. On-campus recreation facilities include a soccer field, tennis courts, and basketball courts.

The Pier Park (expected in 2018)

The St. Petersburg City Council has selected "The Pier Park" as the new design concept for the city's iconic ocean pier. The Pier Park will feature event spaces, a sloping lawn capable of holding 4,000 people, floating docks for fishing, and a ground-floor restaurant. Construction is scheduled for completion in spring 2018.

Saturday Morning Market

From October through May, the Saturday Morning Market in downtown St. Petersburg offers visitors locally produced food, artwork and music. Diners can enjoy barbeque, crepes, empanadas, and more. With about 10,000 customers each Saturday, the event has become the largest one-day-a-week market in the Southeast.

Sebring Courtroom

The Sebring Courtroom is named for Justice Harold L. "Tom" Sebring, Stetson's dean from 1955-1968 and a judge with the Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal. The facility serves as a classroom and training courtroom and has been renovated to include a "smart" podium, media center, and judges' chambers.
