Medical Office Building
Our Medical Office Building has a variety of specialists and outpatient services, including breast surgery, general surgery, lab services, ob/gyn, orthopaedics, urology and cardiac surgery.
Main Lobby
Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital’s design is smart, simple and easy to navigate. In the main lobby, you’ll find an information desk with a friendly volunteer, a brightly-lit seating area and convenient access to the Berkeley Bistro. You can also access the chapel and elevators through the main lobby.

Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital offers 3D mammography, the latest tool in breast cancer prevention. Early detection is key when it comes to beating breast cancer.
Nuclear Medicine
Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital’s nuclear medicine camera is the fastest in our system, cutting imaging times in half for most procedures.
MRI
Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital’s extra spacious MRI has a 70cm opening and noise reduction technology, which allows for quieter exams with a little more elbow room.
CT
The latest in CT scan technology, this 128 slice Siemens scanner can scan a chest, abdomen and pelvis in 5.4 seconds.
Emergency Room
Our 24-hour emergency department includes a separate entrance and dedicated ambulance access, allowing patients in crisis quick admittance without being slowed by general hospital visitors. Two triage rooms also help to fast track those with life-threatening conditions.
Labor and Delivery
Labor and delivery rooms feature large walk in private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, Halo bassinets and peanut therapy balls, which studies show can help reduce labor times. The delivery and postpartum care rooms are flooded with warm natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The Labor and Delivery floor also includes two C-section operating rooms, a small nursery for babies needing extra attention and a comfortable family-friendly waiting room.
Halo Bassinets
Halo bassinets swivel 360 degrees, gliding right over mom’s hospital bed or dad’s sleeper chair. The bassinet’s side rail goes down with a gentle press so that recovering patients can comfortably reach in to scoop up their new bundle.

Patient Room
Research shows that soothing colors and natural light can yield positive patient outcomes. Tapping into that science, patient rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and a neutral color palette of blue and taupe, plus private bathrooms.

When time is of the essence, getting additional experts to a bedside is made easier by using telemedicine carts. This technology allows a doctor to examine a patient using a live video feed to develop a treatment plan without losing valuable time to travel.

Operating Room
Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital’s four ground-level operating rooms provide space for both inpatient and outpatient surgeries. The two larger operating rooms are equipped with da Vinci Surgical Systems, on which surgeons can perform minimally invasive robotic surgeries.
