Post Downtown

Post Downtown

In December 2018 we opened Post Downtown—located in the former Howland Hughes Department Store building which has been a significant part of Waterbury history—a return of sorts to the University’s 1890 starting point in downtown Waterbury. We reimagined the building to create a state-of-the-art online education hub, consisting of a functional workspace for Post Associates who support our online degree programs. We preserved several historic aspects of the building, such as the façade, the wood floors, and a large antique safe—used to store money in the building’s department store days—that still remains on the fourth floor. The lobby of Post Downtown offers a large public space for community events.
