Security is essential to Cyxtera data center operations. All visitors must present a valid government issued photo ID. Data center customers authorize access for their staff and contractors via our customer portal. Those with permanent access rights will be issued a photo key card linked to a biometric scan for facility access.

Small group huddle rooms are available free of charge on a first-come-first basis and are reserved via the security deck. Doors are locked with key-card access control.

Welcome to the Meet Me Room. This network and cloud provider neutral interconnection point is the heart of the Cyxtera data center ecosystem. Connect with service providers, carriers, cloud on-ramps, business partners, and customers quickly and easily.

IT infrastructure is useless without connectivity to customers, users, and service providers. Providing a secured, centralized location for making all data center cross connects between customer environments, carriers, services providers and managed services. A variety of media types are supported including CAT6, single-mode and multi-mode fiber.

Power Room

The power room has access to 40 MW of utility power and 38 MW generator power with expansion up to 42 MW. Power is conditioned here before distributing it to the raised floor. Power feeds are protected by an N+1 UPS bank which will carry the full data center load until the generators come online within moments of a utility failure.

Maintaining UPS Battery Health

UPS battery health is continually monitored to identify weak cells and proactively replace them before they fail. This ensures the UPS can carry the data center load in the event of a utility failure until the generators come online.

Break Room

When customers come to the data center to install or service their equipment, they can relax and recharge in the break room and enjoy access to vending machines, cable television, and a dining area. Adjacent to the break room are several small meetings rooms available on a first-come, first-serve basis (signed out at the security desk).

Generator Yard

DFW1 has nineteen 2 MW diesel generators in an N+1 configuration with concurrent maintainability for maximum uptime. The site’s nearly 130,000 gallon fuel capacity is tested and polished regularly to assure smooth extended operation in the event of extended utility outage.

Generators & Fuel Supply Keep the Power Flowing

The diesel generators are maintained and tested regularly, ready to power the facility in the event of utility failure with 48 hours fuel supply on-site and replenishment from multiple suppliers.


Regular Maintenance and Testing Keeps the Power Flowing

All generators are tested and exercised using an on-site load bank, following a rigorous maintenance schedule.

Package Tracking, Storage, and Notification

Shipping and receiving services ease logistics for equipment installs and upgrades. All incoming packages are tagged, tracked, and notifications sent to customers via the Customer Portal. Packages are stored free of charge for 30 days and Cyxtera staff are available to perform remote hands services, from simple unpacking and inventorying, to full rack and stack of equipment.
