The Grand Lobby of Sarofim Hall brings the outdoors in with its breathtaking panoramic view of downtown Houston. The 60-foot glass facade welcomes natural daylight or evening lights into the entire space, and the lobby doors open to a spacious outdoor terrace. The Grand Lobby is the perfect setting for lavish seated dinners, luncheons or receptions.
The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is raising the curtain on its show-stopping new signature restaurant – Diana American Grill – a classic Theater District restaurant that draws on the long heritage of the grill rooms found in close proximity to great theaters. Named for Diana Hobby – who impacted the Houston community in countless ways and played an instrumental role in the creation of the performing arts center – the restaurant name serves to honor, acknowledge and extend her legacy of grace and generosity.

Located high above Sarofim Hall and overlooking the Grand Lobby, the Gallery is a beautiful and intimate space for a wide variety of events. Combining this space, with its ample natural light and views of downtown Houston, with a larger main event in the Grand Lobby gives guests a truly unique and vibrant experience. Wedding ceremonies, followed by receptions in larger spaces, have been executed with great results in this area.
Inspired by the legendary theaters of Europe and Broadway, Sarofim Hall updates traditional luxury with modern functionality. Its midnight blue interior and rich crimson draperies are crowned with the Celestial Dome Ceiling. With state-of-the art acoustics and exceptional sightlines, Sarofim Hall is a prime location for theatrical events, corporate meetings, training sessions, TV broadcast and film shoots, gala fundraisers, and more. Create a memorable event for up to 2650 in the theater, with seated dinner capacity for 500, or reception capacity for 1000, in the Grand Lobby. Seated events or receptions can also be held on Sarofim’s stage, for a theatrical touch.
Perfect for intimate performances or meetings, Zilka Hall is the petite jewel-box of the Hobby Center. With the same attention to technical details, outstanding acoustics and excellent sightlines as Sarofim Hall, Zilkha wraps its audience in deep rose tones and walnut wood accents. Zilkha offers a pleasantly mid-size capacity in a cozy setting, seating 500 on two levels. You won’t sacrifice functionality for size in Zilkha Hall, as it boasts a full orchestra pit and backstage features similar to Sarofim. Served by a separate lobby that can accommodate small receptions, Zilka is convenient to Artista Restaurant and the Founders Club.
