H. E. “GENE” RAINBOLT
In 1962, Gene Rainbolt acquired his first bank, the First American Bank in Purcell. Over the next 50 years, Mr. Rainbolt acquired other banks in Oklahoma and has served as a leader in the banking industry. In 1989, BancFirst was founded, which is now the largest state-chartered bank in Oklahoma with assets of $9.6 billion and offices in 59 communities in Oklahoma.
Mr. Rainbolt is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with both undergraduate and graduate degrees. He has also served in numerous leadership roles with professional associations and boards.
Mr. Rainbolt and his family are committed supporters of the University of Oklahoma, the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. The Gene Rainbolt Graduate School of Business was named in honor and recognition of Mr. Rainbolt and his many contributions to the University of Oklahoma and the state.
Mr. Rainbolt and his late wife, Jeannine, have two children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, which he considers to be the highlight of his life.
