Cytology
Our cytology department performs 130,000 pap smears and 4,000 hospital cytology cases per year.
Blood Bank
The experienced medical technologists at our blood bank perform more than 2,000 types and screens per month. We also partner with Heartland Blood Centers -- a highly respected independent not-for-profit blood donation center that serves northern Illinois and northwest Indiana -- in order to provide the highest quality inpatient and outpatient transfusion services.
Courier Services
With a team of more than 50, our courier services are provided to all HealthLab clients and feature routes that stretch throughout Illinois and into northwestern Indiana. Most supplies necessary for specimen collections are provided to clients by HealthLab and may be obtained by completing a supply requisition form and forwarding it to the supply department via courier, fax or email.
Sysmex Equipment
Our hematology solutions are powered by equipment from Sysmex, a company with a worldwide reputation of manufacturing quality testing devices known for their reliability with whole blood analytics with state-of-the-art peripheral blood diagnostics. This department also incorporates both routine and special coagulation studies as well as complete urinalysis studies, which are performed on the IRIS IQ200. This instrument performs digital imaging of urine sediment, allowing for the verification of identified cellular components.
Computer Services
Our information technology department combines industry-standard and leading-edge system platforms to provide the best tools for our clients. This includes integrated web-based order entry and result inquiry systems such as Atlas LabWorks, which helps clients with a paperless approach that results in a reduction in turnaround time and increases accuracy.
Molecular
As part of our full-service microbiology lab, our molecular diagnostics includes testing for a variety of illnesses, including MRSA, C. difficile, HPV, chlamydia and gonorrhea.
Client Services
At HealthLab, we provide extensive support so our services can become an integral part of your practice or business. This support includes our client services team, which fields more than 500 calls each day, helping clients with topics ranging from proper completion of test requisitions to supply order formats and much more.
Immunocap
Used for IgE specific allergen testing, this instrument allows physicians to diagnose and manage treatment of patient allergies with a simple blood sample.
Winfield Pathology Team
pathology team features seven board-certified pathologists on the medical staff at Central DuPage Hospital. The physicians involved in this program are neither agents nor employees of Central DuPage Hospital or any of its affiliate organizations, including HealthLab. These physicians have selected our facilities as the place where they want to treat and care for their private patients. Each of the pathologists has earned board certification in anatomic and clinical pathology. Their specialties include transfusion services, microbiology and immunology, surgical pathology, cytology, and hematology and histology, ensuring that someone is able to answer any question you have about a test.
Roche Equipment
Our chemistry services are among the nation's best thanks to our new Roche instrumentation, which is one of the largest installations of its kind in the United States. This highly accurate chemistry lab solution includes two pre-analytic and four analytic lines, each capable of 6,000 tests per hour, as well as barcode tracking technologies and fully automated quality control, processing, analysis and results delivery.
