The labor and delivery services at Methodist Hospital are designed to help new moms and their families feel comfortable during the entire birth experience. We offer beautifully decorated, spacious labor, delivery and recovery (LDR) suites. All rooms are linked to a central fetal monitor display that may be observed from the main nurses’ station.
Our state-of-the-art women’s center in the Berger Tower also houses our dedicated C-section surgical suite. You can feel secure in the knowledge that we offer the latest medical technology and round-the-clock anesthesia coverage as well. We are proud of our family-centered care provided by a highly specialized, multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, pharmacists, dietitians and occupational therapists.
The vast majority of births are uncomplicated. However, if problems arise, Methodist Hospital’s 17-bed state-of-the-art Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) allows babies to receive the best possible care without delay. The clinical expertise of our multidisciplinary team in the critical care of babies provides coverage 24 hours a day. Our neonatologists are experts in treating the full spectrum of neonatal illnesses and conditions.
Caring for you and your newborn and ensuring that you feel at ease with all aspects of baby care are very important to us. Our nurses are specially trained to help you form those first bonds with your newborn and will help you with breastfeeding. We also provide a lactation consultant to help with specialized feeding needs. We are proud to have a consistently high level of patient satisfaction.
